Behind the success

Babraham Research Campus Ltd is responsible for the development and management of the Campus on behalf of its shareholders; the UKRI Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and the Babraham Institute. The Campus is one of the UK’s leading places to support early-stage bioscience enterprise and is distinct in its co-location of bioscience companies with the Babraham Institute. World class research and business come together to promote innovation and strengthen links between academia and the commercial world.

Campus Team

Executive Team

The Executive Team at Babraham Research Campus ensure the ongoing development and management of the Campus. We ensure the provision of appropriate space, connectivity and opportunities for the Babraham Institute, commercial companies, and research-led technology platforms and services to co-locate successfully.

The Board

The Board of Babraham Research Campus includes representation from our shareholders, the UKRI Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council and the Babraham Institute, as well as leading life science entrepreneurs and international pharmaceutical organisations based within the Cambridge cluster.

Operational Team

Our dedicated Babraham Research Campus teams support every aspect of life on Campus, from the management of the grounds to maintenance across all our buildings. In addition, our Security Team manages the 24-hour security provision and acts as the first point of contact for all visitors. Our Helpdesk staff are also available to offer occupiers support and advice when required.

Our Shareholders

Babraham Institute
The Babraham Institute is a world-class research organisation, at the heart of Babraham Research Campus. Its mission is to be an international leader in fundamental biology with expertise in epigenetics, immunology and signalling and an overall focus on healthy ageing. The Institute collaborates with research organisations worldwide and it provides external users with access to its cutting-edge scientific facilities.

BBSRC
The UKRI Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) is the UK’s major public funder of bioscience research and innovation. Its aim is to further scientific knowledge, promote economic growth, wealth and job creation and improve quality of life in the UK and beyond. In 2023, BBSRC invested £461 million in world-class bioscience. It supports research and training in universities and strategically supported institutes. The research, and the people it funds, are helping society address major challenges including food security, green energy and healthier, longer lives.
